Hanoi (VNA) – The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) will provide24/7 online payment service at the Customs e-Payment Portal from the end ofOctober.

It is among fivecommercial banks selected to pilot the General Department of Customs’ e-taxpayment scheme this year. The others are Vietcombank, Vietinbank, MB andTechcombank.

The new serviceallows companies to pay tax at the portal anytime, including weekends andholidays, and anywhere with the Internet access. It also enables firms to checkand print out their history of tax transactions online and receive many specialoffers from the BIDV.

With the new form of tax payment, the customs authority willdirectly support enterprises in making payment documents from the original dataand minimise errors in money transfer procedures.

The form will also ensure the integrity and confidentialityof all taxpayers’ information during the transaction and customise informationfields in exchanging one or more forms at banks to reduce their working timewith banks.

For the tax agency, this scheme will help reduce personnelfor tax collection and simplify related processes. It ensures that tax iscorrectly settled right after taxpayers fulfill their duties, hence avoidingmistaken coercion. It will also minimise information errors in tax formsbesides increasing the degree of satisfaction of businesses and internationalinvestors.-VNA
