“The Canadian International TradeTribunal (CITT) is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to thedomestic industry and will make an order or finding by May 25, 2018. Provisionalduties will continue to be applied on imports of dumped and subsidized subjectgoods from Vietnam until the CITT concludes its inquiry and issues itsfinding,” the agency noted in an announcement last month.

TheCBSA launched investigations into certain copper pipe fittings exported fromVietnam in October 2017, following a complaint filed by a manufacturer inCambridge, Ontario – Cello Products Inc – who claimed that as a result of priceundercutting from Vietnam, Cello faced losses in sales and market share. Thefirm alleges that it also suffered negative financial results, reducedproduction and employment due to that.
