Caravan tour expected to promote Vietnam-Laos tourism

Tourists departed in Hanoi onMarch 24, driving themselves through Son La (Vietnam), Sam Neua, Luang Prabang,Vientiane, Plain of Jars (Laos) and Nghe An province (Vietnam), beforereturning to the Vietnamese capital city.
Speaking at the press conference,director of travel company Hanoitourist Phung Quang Thang said the tour helpstourists learn about Vietnamese and Lao history, culture and cuisine, thushelping to popularise Vietnam’s tourism, diversifying tourist products andpromoting tourism connectivity between the two countries.
The seven-day tour is availablefor both domestic and foreign tourists, he said.
Thang suggested the VietnamNational Administration of Tourism hold training courses for tour guides and cutimmigration time at border gates in order to develop this kind of tour.
