Hanoi (VNA) – The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) held a pre-Christmas gathering in Hanoi on Decemb�ౠ�er 22.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan attended the event and shared joy over the season with Catholic dignitaries and followers.
The front leader expressed his hope that the Catholic community will continue to accompany the country in nation-building and defence. In early December 2015, the VFF and 40 religious organisations of 14 religions across the country signed coordination programmes for the first time to share a common voice over environmental issues.
He thanked the religious compatriots for supporting and actively engaging in environmental protection initiatives and climate change resilience. He said the hopes the Catholics and CSVC at local levels would devote more efforts to improve living standards and protect the environment. Leaders of the CSVC promised to promote the national patriotic movements among Catholic followers in the New Year 2016.-VNA
