Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The Quang Nam Culture, Sports and TourismDepartment has just set up a Quang Region Cuisine Museum to honour local noodledishes.
The museum was established by Vinahouse Joint Stock Company on National HighwayNo 1 in the area of Dien Minh commune, Dien Ban district, the central provinceof Quang Nam.
According to Le Van Vinh, General Director of Vinahouse Company, the museumexhibits objects and ingredients used in local food and hosts cookingactivities of traditional dishes like mi Quang (Quang noodle) and phosan (beef noodle from cassava powder).
The museum has gathered 5,000 objects and various rare materials concerning thehistory and development of typical dishes of the region, the most distinguishedof which is the Quang noodle.
Artisans famous for their Quang noodles have been invited to perform at themuseum, and ancient cooking tools have been collected for display at the site.
The famous dish is served with steamed rice noodles, fresh herbs, pork, shrimp,chicken and broth made from stew pork bones. It is topped with roasted peanutsand chili.-VNS/VNA
