Hanoi, (VNA) – The Ministry of Construction has cutor simplified 85 percent out of the 215 business and investment conditions, andeliminated five among the 17 conditional business lines.

The proportion exceeds 35 percent compared with therequirement set in the Prime Minister’s Directive No.20 on intensifying reformof specialised inspections, and cutting down and simplifying business andinvestment conditions. These figures reflect great efforts by the ministry’sunits to improve the business environment and administrative reform, insideofficials said.

At present, the Ministry is reviewing and proposing theremoval of four other conditional business lines stipulated in legal documents.

Earlier, the ministry took the initiative in addressing difficultiesfor businesses through coordinating with the Government Office to organise anational teleconference to solve difficulties and shortcomings on policies andmechanisms related to construction investment. The function was presided overby Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

To prepare for this teleconference, it had collected andconsidered over 2,000 petitions of voters, enterprises, and vocationalassociations and organisations, while coordinating with the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry in holding a conference to listen to businesses’difficulties.

The ministry is currently working with related ministries torealise the teleconference’s outcomes as well as the Prime Minister’sconclusions at the event.

It has completed and submitted to the Government aresolution on some tasks and measures to ease difficulties and solv shortcomingson policies and mechanisms related to construction investment.

The ministry also submitted to and received the Governmentleader’s approval of a directive on stepping up the implementation of measuresto shorten the duration of granting construction license and related proceduresby more than 40 days.

In the second quarter of 2018, it piloted the establishmentof a single window unit in charge of handling 22 out of 33 administrativeprocedures under authority of the Construction Minister.

During the three-month operation, the unit received 47dossiers, of which 27 were handled as scheduled.-VNA
