Construction of Lai Chau power plant to kick-off

Construction of Lai Chau hydro-electric power plant will start on Jan. 5 in Nam Hang commune, Muong Te district, according to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
Construction of Lai Chau hydro-electricpower plant will start on Jan. 5 in Nam Hang commune, Muong Tedistrict, according to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

The plant will have three turbine groups with a combined capacity of 1,200 MW.

The project’s post-tax total investment is 35.7 trillion VND (over1.78 billion USD), of which EVN contributed 20 percent.

EVNis responsible for construction of the project, resettlement for localinhabitants and project’s infrastructure facilities.

Thefirst turbine of the plant is expected to generate electricity in 2016while construction of the project is planned to complete in 2017./.
