Construction of a new Central Tropical Disease Hospital started on December 19 in Dong Anh district, Hanoi.
Construction of a new Central Tropical Disease Hospital started on December 19 in Dong Anh district, Hanoi. Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Health Nguyen ThiKim Tien said the current Tropical Disease Hospital, a first classcentral speciality hospital, was overloaded with its operations limitedto a 2,000 sq.m area in Bach Mai Hospital campus. The new hospital will resolve the problem and improve treatment quality for contagious and tropical diseases.
The minister called for improving hospital staff quality and quantity once the move to the new location takes place.
The first phase of the new hospital’s construction will beimplemented in the 2013-2015 period to provide 500 beds for the sick. The new hospital will cover 58,000 square metres and will include amain building, a nutrition faculty, anti-infection houses, and otherauxiliary works.-VNA

A 2023 report by the Vietnam Health Economics Association estimated that the total cost of tobacco-related healthcare and economic losses reached 108 trillion VND (4.14 billion USD) annually – equivalent to 1.14% of GDP and five times higher than the budget revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

𒈔 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
