Construction starts on two wind farms in Gia Lai province

Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on September 24 for two wind farms with combined capacity of 100 MW in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

GiaLai (VNA) – Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on September 24for two wind farms with combined capacity of 100 MW in the Central Highlandsprovince of Gia Lai.

Thetwo projects have total investment of over 3.6 trillion VND (close to 155.2million USD). When completed in 2021, they will generate more than 319.5million kWh of electricity a year.

Theproject developed by Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Power JSC is set to span an area of654 hectares and have a capacity of 50 MW, while the project of ChuProng Gia Lai Wind Energy JSC will cover 464 hectares and have the samecapacity as the former.

Bothwind farms are located in Bau Can commune, Chu Prong district.

ThePeople’s Committee of Gia Lai has submitted 67 wind power projects with totalcapacity of 4,048.4 MW to relevant authorities to approve their addition to powerdevelopment plannings. Among them, 14 have been allowed to be included in the province’spower development plan./.
