Countries send congratulations on Vietnam’s National Day

Leaders from China, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, and Russia have conveyed their congratulations to Vietnamese counterparts on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Day of Vietnam (September 2).

Leaders from China, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, and Russia have conveyed their congratulations to Vietnamese counterparts on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Day of Vietnam (September 2). In the messages sent to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, the foreign leaders applauded Vietnam on its socio-economic development over the past seven decades. General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang said the Chinese Party and Government attach great importance to the relations with Vietnam, and are willing to work with Vietnam to reinforce the friendship and neighbourliness between the two countries. They added that China is willing to work with Vietnam to reinforce the bilateral political trust and deepen the win-win cooperation as well as resolving any disputes in a satisfactory manner, thus promoting the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Choummaly Sayasone, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, and National Assembly Chairman Pany Yathotu said they believed Vietnam will become an industrialised country by 2020. The Lao leaders thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for their valuable support to Laos over years, adding that the two countries’ traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation will continue thriving to benefit their people as well as peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and beyond. Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister Hun Sen, National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin, and Acting Senate President Nay Pena expressed their delight at the growing relations between the two countries, which, they said, have brought pragmatic benefits for the two peoples and the ASEAN Community. They said believed that the long-standing friendship and all-around collaboration between Vietnam and Cambodia will further deepen in the coming time.
In his congratulatory message, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Council of State and President of the Council of Ministers Raul Castro Ruz, revealed his hope to further consolidate the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and Chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, congratulated Vietnam on its impressive socio-economic, scientific and technological achievements and firm position on the international arena. They said the relations between Vietnam and Russia will continue to develop on the ground of their traditional relations, noting that the two sides are expanding constructive political dialogues as well as cooperation beyond economy, trade, science, and technology. The Russian leaders said they believed the enhancement of Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership along with the increasing coordination in international issues will contribute to ensuring stability and security in Asia-Pacific.
On the occasion, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, sent congratulations to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.-VNA
