Customers increase trust in made-in-Vietnam goods

Some 70 percent of consumers in Ho Chi Minh City put their trust on high quality Vietnamese goods, according to statistics by the HCM City Consumer Right Protection Association.
Some 70 percent of consumers in Ho Chi Minh City put their trust on highquality Vietnamese goods, according to statistics by the HCM CityConsumer Right Protection Association.

Currently,made-in-Vietnam goods have seized bigger domestic market share, withsuch products as food, agricultural products, consumption items,construction materials, and industrial commodities.

Such events as Made-in-Vietnam Goods Fair and “Bringing Vietnamese goodsto rural areas” Programme have generated positive effects on society.Under the programme, more than 100 fairs have been organised in 28provinces and cities, attracting nearly 1.4 million visitors andconsumers.

According to the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (VCCI), consumers’ awareness of locally-made goodshas changed clearly.

The market, which was formerlyoverwhelmed by foreign products, now sees the flooding of locally-madeproducts. Bui Hanh Thu, Saigon Co.op Deputy General Director, saidcurrently, 90 percent of over 1,000 items at her supermarket chain havebeen produced in Vietnam .

Vietnam is the potential retail market which generates some 55 billion USD in revenue a year.-VNA
