Da Nang to send pre-Tet gifts, charitable grants to people in need

The central city of Da Nang will allocate 31.4 billion VND (1.4 million USD) for gifts and charitable grants to disadvantaged people and policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2016

Da Nang (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang will allocate 31.4 billion VND (1.4 million US♔D) for gifts and cha𓃲ritable grants to disadvantaged people and policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2016.

The recipients include veterans who served the nation in its struggle for independence, war invalids, h eroic mothers, labour heroes, invalids and relatives of war martyrs. The municipal authorities plan to pay pre-Tet visits to soldiers and officers in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, the centre for people who rendered service to the nation, Da Nang Military Command, the centre for education and vocational training 05-06, and the Academy of Politics Region 3.
It will also lay wreaths at the city’s martyr cemetery and Phuoc Ninh cemetery.
In addition, agencies and organisations across the city have also joined hands in supporting the poor. Among those is the local charity and child protection society, which has raised funds to bring a warm Tet to impoverished people and children. The Cong An Nhan Dan (People’s Public Security) Newspaper’s office in the city has presented more than 1,000 gift packages, worth 500 million VND, to the poor in Da Nang city, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.-VNA
