Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has urged businesses and educational establishments of the US State of Utah to expand investment in Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh has urged businesses and educational establishments ofthe US State of Utah to expand investment in Vietnam, especially in transportinfrastructure, science, water resources management, sustainable agriculturaldevelopment, urban planning and climate change response.

He made the call during a reception in Hanoi on August 30for Governor of Utah state Gary Herbert, who is on a Vietnam visit from August29 to September 3.

The host said the Vietnamese government is determined tocarry out comprehensive and synchronous reform, with a focus on rapid and sustainableeconomic development; building a constructive, transparent and action-orientedcabinet; and ensuring interests of investors by acquiring their feedback andsoon clearing their obstacles.

Herbert, for his part, affirmed that Utah will further pushforward the friendship and effective and practical cooperation with Vietnam,contributing to the bilateral ties.

On the occasion, the US delegation met Secretary ofthe Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi People’sCommittee Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s CommitteeNguyen Thanh Phong, leaders of the ministries of industry and trade, scienceand technology, and businesses from the two cities.-VNA
