Hanoi (VNA)
– The military forceshave made significant contributions to the fight against the acute respiratorydisease caused by a novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Deputy Prime Minister Vu DucDam said at a teleconference on February 19.

He said the forces have continuously controlledwell the border areas and effectively quarantined suspected cases.

As of February 17, the army received over 2,290citizens coming backing home from disease-affected areas, and quarantined themat 14 military locations.

Border guards in seven Vietnam-China borderprovinces have coordinated with the police, customs officials and militiamen inkeeping a close watch over the disease.

So far, Vietnam has recorded 16 infection caseswith 14 being successfully treated and the other two in good health./.
