Dinh Vu polyester fibre plant opens two more lines

The Dinh Vu polyester fibre plant in the northern port city of Hai Phong has put into operation two additional DTY fibre production lines, raising the total capacity to nearly 900 tonnes per month, up 20 percent.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Dinh Vu polyester fibre plant in thenorthern port city of Hai Phong has put into operation two additional DTY fibreproduction lines, raising the total capacity to nearly 900 tonnes per month, up20 percent.

As of the first quarter this year, the plant ran 10 DTY fibreproduction lines, providing about 2,000 tonnes of DTY fibre for the domesticmarket and partners from the Republic of Korea and Japan.

Earlier in March 2018, the plant’s operatorPetroVietnam Petrochemical and Textile Fiber JSC (PVTEX) partnered with ajoint-venture between An Phat Holdings JSC, India’s Reliance Industry Company, andSingapore’s Fortrec Chemicals Company to resume the plant.

In November 2018, the plant was removed fromthe list of 12 loss-making projects in the industry and trade sector, andstarted stable operations.   

PVTEX is devising a financial plan tomaintain the plant’s operations. Its experts and foreign partners are consideringthe signing of a contract to fully operate the plant in the near future. –VNA
