Dong Nai (VNA) - The southeastern province ofDong Nai has identified a new Zika virus infection case, bringing the totalnumber of infections to seven, the province’s Preventive Health Centre said on February1.
Bach Thai Binh, director of the centre, said a 37 year-oldwoman from Thong Nhat District’s Gia Tan3 Commune was diagnosed with the Zika virus.
After detection, the centre collaborated with localauthorities to mobilise local residents to clean up the environment and spraychemicals to kill mosquitoes in areas with Zika virus infections.
Previous Zika infections were discovered in Bien Hoa city and Nhon TrachDistrict.-VNA
The HCM City Preventive Health Centre is piloting the use of thermal foggers to kill mosquitoes, replacing the ultra-low volume cold fogger, as the number of Zika incidences continues to increase.
