HCMCity (VNS/VNA) - The Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh Cityand Dong Thap province organised an online meeting to promote trade in theagricultural sector.

The‘Virtual meet on Trade and Investment promotion between India and Dong ThapProvince in Agriculture’ on December 15 saw Doan Tan Buu, Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee, saying trade with India had grown steadily inthe first nine months of this year to reach 5.96 million USD.

DongThap province is ready to tie up with Indian investors and businesses fororganic and sustainable food processing and wants to invite them to invest infarming mango, its main fruit, he said.

IndianConsul General Madan Mohan Sethi said Indian companies want to explore businessand investment interests with entrepreneurs of Dong Thap.

Hewants to have more interactionsbetween states in India and provinces in Vietnam.

Onthe occasion, the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM) and Dong ThapTrade, Tourism and Investment Promotion Centre signed an MoU to step up tradeand investment cooperation between the two sides and increase communication andexchanges of delegations.

Themeeting was attended by 70 Indian and Vietnamese officials and executives fromthe agricultural commodities and food processing sectors.

Thirtycompanies from India and Vietnam joined a B2B session to discuss potentialtrade opportunities in the agricultural sector./.
