Donor delegates tour projects in Ha Tinh

Delegates to the mid-term donors’ consultative group (CG) meeting forVietnam said that aid poured into central Ha Tinh province helped toimprove local people’s lives and contributed to provincialsocio-economic development.

They made the remark on June 8 aftermaking a fact-finding tour, visiting recent projects and subprojects inHa Tinh within the framework of the CG meeting in the province.

Theprojects included the 419 million VND Ke Go irrigation modernisationsubproject funded by the WB; a programme for improving marketparticipation of the poor in Khanh Loc commune, Can Loc district,jointly funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development(IFAD) and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ); and the CentralRegion Urban Environmental Improvement Project – the 17.5 million USD HaTinh Sub-project jointly sponsored by the Asian Development Bank (ADB)and the French Development Agency (AFD).

The delegates alsovisited the Community Based Rural Infrastructure Project (CBRIP) – theXuan Yen-Xuan Hai-Xuan Pho inter-commune road subproject funded by theWB, the 705 million JPY Ha Tinh General Hospital equipment projectfunded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a 104 billionVND Vietnam-Germany vocational training cooperation project jointlysponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation andDevelopment (BMZ) and the 43 billion VND inter-provincial road upgradeproject funded by JICA in Duc Tho district.

The meeting will continue through June 9./.
