Attending the event will be a host of officials, businessmen,investors, researchers from countries lying along the EWEC andinternational organisations in Vietnam.
The forum focuses on potentials and advantages of EWEC; thedevelopment of infrastructural facilities and proposals of policymechanism for exploitation of EWEC; and the linkages and building of anEWEC community. EWEC is an economic development programme initiated in 1998 bythe Ministerial Conference of Greater Mekong Subregion in order topromote the development and integration of four countries, namely Laos,Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. This corridor became operational inDecember 2006./.
