Hanoi (VNA)ꦛ – Deputy head of the National Assembly’s Economic Committee Duong Quoc Anh and head of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam’s Cooperation and Development Department Alejandro Montalban discussed Vietnam’s economic governance during a working session in Hanoi on August 29.

They looked into policies and legal regulations on Vietnam’s economic governance, as well as support programmes by the EU and sponsors.
In the near future, the EU’s support programmes will help Vietnam with the reform of healthcare sector and capacity improvement, the fight against tax evasion and illegal financial flows, and dealing with existing flaws in public spending, procurement and debt management.
The EU will offer technical support in public finance management, tax policy and administrative reform, debt management, and business governance in State-owned enterprises and banks, which is expected to start in 2018. On the occasion, the guest revealed that the EU will offer 20 million EUR in non-refundable aid to Vietnam for the effort.-VNA
