First forum to gather Vietnamese young intellectuals around the globe
The first Vietnamese Young Intellectual Forum – VYI Forum 2018 will take place from November 27-29 in Da Nang central city with the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese young intellectuals residing in 21 countries and working in 52 different areas.

Hanoi (VNA) – The first Vietnamese Young Intellectual Forum – VYI Forum 2018 will takeplace from November 27-29 in Da Nang central city with the participation of morethan 200 Vietnamese young intellectuals residing in 21 countries and working in52 different areas.
According to theorganizers - the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and theVietnam Youth Federation - 27 percent of the participants are assistantprofessors, doctors and post-docs, 25 percent hold MA degrees, 33 percent havebachelor degrees and 5 percent are outstanding students.
The forum aims to seekbreakthrough solutions to innovative startup in Vietnam.
Secretary of the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Ngoc Luong said the unionhopes that the event will be held annually in Vietnam, creating opportunitiesfor young intellectuals living in and outside the country to raise theirinitiative and new ideas, thus contributing to the Government’s efforts in implementingnational development goals.
It is also a channelfor Government and State agencies to receive advice from the youngintellectuals on current issues, as well as difficulties and challenges facingthe country.
Participants willdiscuss the visions, missions, roles and capacity of Vietnamese youngintellectuals, while giving recommendations on mechanisms to attract andpromote high quality resources, and encourage the youth to actively contributeto the national construction and development.
Vice StandingChairwoman of the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Thi Thu Van said that withinthe forum, a discussion between leaders of the Party, State, and Governmentagencies with Vietnamese young intellectuals around the globe will take place,focusing on technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in environmentalprotection and climate change response, and promoting innovation in production.
A report onrecommendations and policy proposals will be released after the discussion.
Participants will alsodebate the operation of a network connecting Vietnamese young intellectualsaround the world.
The event willconclude with a youth startup forum to seek breakthrough measures for thedevelopment of Vietnam’s innovative startup. This is an opportunity for startupfirms, investors, experts and advisors to give their ideas and solutions,contributing to the expansion of the national startup ecosystem, and supportingthe youth in launching their startups.-VNA

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
