Five new imported cases of COVID-19 reported on September 8

Vietnam recorded five new cases of COVID-19, all imported, in the past 12 hours, raising the national count to 1054 as of 6pm on September 8, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded five new cases of COVID-19, allimported, in the past 12 hours, raising the national count to 1054 as of 6pm onSeptember 8, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.

The new five patients were immediately quarantined after their entryinto the country.   

Also on September 8, 14 patients were given the all clear, taking thetotal recoveries to 868. The number of fatalities remains at 35, most of thembeing the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

Among the active patients, 13 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once,21 twice and 24 thrice.

A total of 37,474 people are being quarantined across the country./.
