Foreign companies to join manufacturing trade show

More than 300 exhibitors from 21 countries and territories will showcase their latest products and services at Vietnam ’s leading manufacturing solutions trade show early next month.
More than 300 exhibitors from 21 countries and territories will showcasetheir latest products and services at Vietnam ’s leadingmanufacturing solutions trade show early next month.

The expo,co-organised by Singapore Exhibition Services Pte-Ltd and VCCIExhibition Services Co.Ltd, will be held from July 2-5 at the SaigonExhibition & Convention Centre.

Eleven countries andterritories, including Japan, France, Germany, Italy, theRepublic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Chinese Taiwan willhave multiple pavilions at the MTA (Metrology, Tools and Automation)Vietnam 2013 show.

The show will focus on precision engineering, machine tools and metal working, organisers said.

They said the international component of MTA Vietnam 2013 is veryhigh, at 81 percent. Major brand names in many areas will be present,they added.

For instance, the world’s top five machine toolexporters, namely Japan, Germany, Italy, Taiwan andSwitzerland are joining this year’s show.

William Lim,Project Director for MTA Vietnam 2013, said the increasing number ofinternational corporations that have set up manufacturing facilities inVietnam is also a major pull factor for major international machinetool brands.

As a reflection of the growing presence ofJapanese manufactures in Vietnam, this year’s show will feature 38exhibitors for the East Asian giant, an increase of 58 percent over thenumber present at the inaugural education of MTA Vietnam in 2003.

The Japanese pavilion this year comprises 22 companies that are mainlysmall to medium sized enterprises producing equipment like bank tools,electronic components, gears, measuring instruments, and machine tools.

Kazuhiko Osato, Director of the Japan External TradeOrganisation (JETRO)’s HCM City office, said “This is the 7 th timewe are exhibiting at the MTA series in Vietnam, and it is ourbiggest group of exhibitors to date. The increase of Japanesemanufacturers in Vietnam bodes very well for smaller Japanese as itprovides the link to break into the Vietnamese market”.

MATVietnam 2013 will also feature a series of exciting competitions andseminars, including Vietnam Welding Skill, Vietnam’s Welding Technologyseminars – Today And the Future Vision; Using management Tools toImprove Quality in manufacturing Industries and New Approaches to Designmachining & manufacturing.-VNA
