Thirteen businesses received the Vietnam HR Awards for best humanresource practices given away by the Talentnet Corporation and Labourand Social Affairs newspaper at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City onDecember 10.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids andSocial Affairs, the newly instituted awards are aimed at recognising andhonouring businesses with excellent HR policies, promoting effective HRstrategies, and creating a forum to share HR policies and practices.

Theyare given to outstanding enterprises in five human resourcescategories: manpower planning and resourcing, compensation and rewardsmanagement, performance management, training and human capitalmanagement, and best workplace environment.

A sixth prizerecognises the efforts of companies that went through transition periodsbut remained focused on HR and achieved encouraging results.

Onlyfour of the winners were Vietnamese - The Gioi Di Dong, FPT, Tan CuongMinh, and Thanh Cong Textile Garment, Investment and Trading Joint StockCompany.

The rest were multinational firms — Intel Products Vietnam, Unilever Vietnam, Abbott Vietnam, DHL, and Samsung Vina Electronics.

Intelwon in three categories: manpower planning and resourcing, compensationand reward management, and best workplace environment.

This also fetched it the Best Enterprise of the Vietnam HR Awards 2014 award.

ArnoldChan, Managing Director of Grow Talent Pte Ltd. and a member of thejury, said Vietnamese companies are acknowledged for their flexibility,creativity, and adaptability.

Multinational companies are bestknown for their professionalism and standard measurement methods, whichhelp develop a HR strategy that is closely connected with the businessstrategy, he added.-VNA
