Hanoi (VNA) - The government member꧂s from the 2007-2011 and 2011-2016 tenures met with newly elected government members at a get-together in Hanoi on April 12.

Speaking at the event, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung congratulated new Cabinet members on their recent election.
They expressed their belief that the new government will build on successes over the past 70 years under the Party leadership and stay united to fulfill tasks assigned by the Party, State and people. In his speech, newly-elected Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc vowed to drastically combat corruption and wastefulness to build a strong and transparent government, while complying with a resolution set by the 12 th National Party Congress and the 2016-2020 socio-economic development scheme recently approved by the NA.
The government will closely follow the socialist-oriented market economy rules and consistently pursue the goal of firmly safeguarding national sovereignty meeting the public aspirations, he stated. He also took the occasion to express his thanks to predecessors and ask for their further support in the future.-VNA
