Former petroleum executives prosecuted for trade fraud

Hanoi (VNA) – The Investigation Police Bureau for Economic ManagementOrder Offences (C46) on June 21 began proceeding procedures against four peopleaccused of abusing position and power to appropriate assets in three petroleumcompanies under the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).
The C46 issued arrest and search warrants for Tu Thanh Nghia, former GeneralDirector of the Vietnam-Russia oil and gas exploration joint venture(Vietsovpetro); Vo Quang Huy, former chief accountant of Vietsovpetro; Dinh VanNgoc, former General Director of the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Co.,Ltd (BSR); and Nguyen Tuan Hung, former head of the financial desk of thePetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).
The Supreme People’s Procuracy approved the warrants the same day.
