More than 450 delegates from ministries, agencies and localitiesnationwide are gathering in the central city of Da Nang to sharetheir experience in HIV/AIDS prevention.

The Vietnam CivilSociety Partnership Platform on AIDS (VCSPA), taking place on November12-14, is co-organised by the VCSPA governing board, the VietnamResearch Institute for Social Development, the Global Fund for HIV/AIDSProject and the Centre for Supporting Community Development (SCDI).

Duringthe event, participants discussed the HIV/AIDS and tuberculosissituation in Vietnam , the role of community-based andnon-governmental organisations in realising national targets, as well asthe outcomes of intervention models in HIV prevention.

They alsohighlighted challenges they face in the work and put forth ways toimprove people’s access to HIV/AIDS prevention and control services.

Deputy Director of the Department of AIDS Prevention and Control underthe Ministry of Health Bui Duc Duong hailed the event for connectingsocial organisations in the fight against the deadly disease.

The annual platform currently has more than 300 member entities,including non-governmental and community-based organisations, vulnerablegroups and individuals in 48 provinces and cities throughout thenation.-VNA
