FPT’s profit up 28 percent in first eight months of 2019

Vietnam's information technology giant FPT Corporation reported revenue and pre-tax profit of over 17 trillion VND (732.5 million USD) and nearly 3 trillion VND (129.3 million USD) in the first eight months of this year, up 21 percent and 28 percent, respectively.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam's information technology giant FPTCorporation reported revenue and pre-tax profit of over 17 trillion VND (732.5 million USD) and nearly 3 trillion VND (129.3 million USD) in the first eight months of this year, up 21 percent and 28 percent,respectively.

InAugust alone, FPT's revenue and pre-tax profit reached almost 2.3 trillion VND (99.1 million USD) and454 billion VND (19.5 million USD),an increase of more than 17 percent and 30 percent compared to the same periodlast year.

Inthe first eight months, post-tax profit reached 2.5 trillion VND, up 27 per cent year-on-year. EPS(earnings per share) were 2,961 VND,up 29 percent year-on-year. The profit margin continued to improve, reaching17.6 percent compared to 16.6 percent in the first eight months of 2018.

Thecompany’s technology segment recorded growth of 43.4 percent, acting as themain growth engine. The segment recorded revenue and pre-tax profit of 9.53 trillion VND (410.7 million USD) and 1.2 trillion VND (51.7million USD), respectively, up nearly 26 percent and43.4 percent over the same period last year.

Thetelecom segment reported over 6.77 trillion VND (287.7 million USD) inrevenue and more than 1.12 trillion VND (48.6 million USD) in pre-tax profit.

Foreignmarkets helped FPT earned 7.17 trillion VND (309 million USD) inrevenue and  over 1.14 trillion VND (49.3 million USD) in pre-tax profit, up by nearly 31 percent and 34.3 percent over the sameperiod last year./.
