NinhBinh (VNA) – As many as 112 children with harelip and cleft palate inthe northern province of Ninh Binh have received free check-ups screenings andsurgeries.
Theprogramme was held by the provincial General Hospital and a surgical delegationof Japan on March 1.
DoctorPham Van Hien, head of the Odonto-Stomatology Faculty of the Ninh Binh GeneralHospital said children with harelip and cleft palate should receive surgeriesas soon as possible, which help to improve their health and confidence.
Afterscreenings, 40 children will receive free surgeries from now to March 9. The programme also supports travellingand accommodation fees for the patients during their treatment.
This is the 20th year that the Japanesesurgical delegation has provided free surgeries for children in Ninh Binhprovince. -VNA
