Government leader meets national brand enterprises

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a receptionin Hanoi on November 25 for representatives from 124 enterprises which arehonoured with Vietnam National Brand this year.
According to statistics, these companies’ combined revenuesand export turnover hit 1.4 quadrillion VND (60.5 billion USD) and 137 trillionVND last year, respectively. They contributed over 200 trillion VND to theState budget, and created jobs for over 471,000 labourers.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said that afternine months of selection, 124 companies were selected from more than 1,000enterprises to get the Vietnam National Brand title in 2020, 27 higher than in2019.
Speaking at the event, PM Phuc said that despite impact ofthe COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, Vietnam maintains social stabilityand positive economic growth this year at around 2.5-3 percent.
The achievement is contributed partly by the enterprises withthe national brand, he stressed.
He asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade and businessesto find more effective measures to create the larger output, better quality andbigger contribution to the nation.
Ministries, sectors and localities were requested to work tobuild the brand of the nation, each sector and each locality, as well ascreating favourable conditions for businesses.
The Government will issue new policies and more favourablemechanisms, and pay more attention to all types of enterprises, especiallythose with small and medium sizes to help them soon get the national brandtitle, the Government leader pledged./.
Firms should attach greater attention to building their brands to enhance competitiveness in the context of rapid global integration as Vietnam has few globally-recognised brands.
After nine months of selection, 124 companies with a total of 283 products will be honoured as Vietnam National Brand this year, according to a decision of the National Brand Council.
