Hanoi (VNA) – The Government will strive for gross domestic product(GDP) growth of 6.8 percent in 2019, according to a direction freshly inked byPrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Based on the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first six months ofthis year, localities are required to estimate the figure for the whole yearand forecast development prospects to identify a rational GRDP for 2019.
To reach the goal, the Government will accelerate administrative reforms andbuild a modern and professional administrative system to serve nationaldevelopment.
Meanwhile wage reform will be sped up in line with the resolution adopted atthe 7th plenary session of the 12th Communist Party ofVietnam Central Committee. The reform must ensure that payrolls encourageinvestment in human resources and greater labour productivity.
Regarding the settlement of complaints and denunciations, and corruptionprevention, inspections should be enhanced in fields that pose risks like landmanagement, public assets and construction using State funds.
Examination, prosecution and trial will be carried out for serious economicfrauds and punishment will be given to anyone who causes critical losses forthe nation.
The country will further efforts to consolidate security-defence and protectnational independence, sovereignty and benefits. In addition, it will keepvigilant to defeat sabotage plots from hostile forces and prevent theestablishment of opposing political organisations in the country.-VNA
