Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region grants medical supplies to northern provinces

QuangNinh (VNA) – Leaders of Mong Cai city in the northern border province of Quang Ninhand the Ministry of Health on October 22 received 800,000 doses ofVero Cell vaccine, an ECMO machine and many medical equipment and supplies donatedby the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.
The handover of the vaccine and medical equipment took place on Bac LuanII Bridge at Mong Cai (Vietnam) – Dongxing (China) international border gate.
The vaccine and medical equipment and supplies, worth 62.55 million CNY (some 9.7 million USD) in total, will be allocated to the provinces of Quang Ninh,Lang Son, Cao Bang and Ha Giang which share the borderline and close cooperativeties with Guangxi.
Since the pandemic broke out, Quang Ninh province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have donated medical supplies to and supportedeach other in the fight against COVID-19./.
The northern province of Cao Bang, which borders China, has so far inoculated more than 52,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines for priority groups, covering over 14 percent of its population.
A ceremony was held at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on August 23 to receive 200,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccine produced by Sinopharm and 201,600 disposable syringes as a gift from China’s Ministry of National Defence to the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam.
