Hanoi attracts over 1.1 billion USD in FDI in four months

The capital city of Hanoi attracted more than 1.13 billion USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first four months of this year, with 73 new projects worth over 1 billion USD and 47 projects permitted to increase a combined investment capital of 79 million USD.

Hanoi (VNA)🎀 – The capital city of Hanoi attracted more than 1.13 billion USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first four months of this year, with 73 new projects worth over 1 billion USD and 47 projects permitted to increase a combined investment capital of 79 million USD.

According to the municipal Statistics Office, during the period, foreign investors spent 45 million USD contributing capital to and buying shares of local firms.

𓆉In April alone, 103.9 million USD was registered for 20 new FDI projects, 57.4 million USD was added to 14 existing ones, and 15.5 million USD was spent on 27 capital contributions or share purchases.

During the the month, the city recorded 2,514 newly-established companies with a combined registered capital of 25.6 trillion VND (about 1 billion USD), down 4% compared with the same month last year. A total of 758 firms resumed operations, up 14% year-on-year. From January-April, 9,400 new enterprises were set up in the capital city with a total registered capital of 97.6 trillion VND, while 4,500 enterprises resumed operations./.
