Hanoi calls for investment from Japan

Authorities of Hanoi will create the most favourable conditions for foreign enterprises, including those from Japan, to expand investment, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Hanoi (VNA) – Authorities of Hanoiwill create the most favourable conditions for foreign enterprises, includingthose from Japan, to expand investment in Hanoi, especially in the city’s keyurban areas, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen DucChung.

Chung made the affirmation at the Vietnam-JapanEconomic Dialogue, which was jointly organized by the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(JCCI) in Hanoi on January 24 on the occasion of JCCI Chairman Akiro Mimura’sworking visit to Vietnam.  

The Hanoi leader spoke highly of tradecooperation between Japan and Vietnam in general and between Japan and Hanoi inparticular. 

He called on Japanese firms to expand investmentin a wide range of fields in the city, especiallyin transport infrastructure development, hotels, drug distribution,high-tech agriculture, support industry, and industrial park (IP) and shoppingcentre development. 

In his speech, VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc saidVietnam and its business community are looking forwards to a stable growtheconomy and sustainable development. 

The country is making efforts to support micro-,small- and-medium-sized enterprises in joining the integration process and thendeeply participating in global value chains. 

Nguyen Hoang, Chairman of the Hanoi Associationof Support Industry Enterprises stressed the need to deploy intensive supportprogrammes among the two countries’ business communities, especially SMEs. 

He said he hopes the Japanese Government willincrease support for Vietnam in developing the support industry under thestrategic cooperation programme between the two nations. 

JCCI Chairman Akiro Mimura said many Japaneseenterprises are seeking to further connect with Vietnamese partners in thecontext that Japan is in need of high-quality human resources. 

The Japanese side is willing to help trainVietnamese labourers, thus improving their skills in various sectors, andsupport Vietnamese enterprises in addressing difficulties in production andtechnology renovation, he stated.-VNA
