Hanoi (VNA) – A friendship cycling journey took place in Hanoi’s HoanKiem district on December 11 with a view to raising public awareness ofenvironmental protection.
Theevent, drawing nearly 300 Vietnamese and international participants, was heldby the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HAUFO) and local authorities.
In her opening remarks, Nguyen Lan Huong, President of the Vietnam FatherlandFront Committee of Hanoi and President of HAUFO, said developing a “bright,green, clean, beautiful, and civilised” capital city remains one of theconsistent targets of Hanoi.
Suchactivities as the cycling journey aim to improve the awareness among localresidents and foreigners living in the city about environmental protection andclimate change response, and encourage the use of bicycles and other greentransport vehicles to help achieve sustainable development, she added.
Highly valuing the event, Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam Tatiana Pugh Morenoaffirmed diplomatic corps and international organisations’ pledge to workclosely with HAUFO to strengthen friendship among countries and contribute topeace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
On this occasion, the organising board presented bicycles to five disadvantagedstudents with outstanding academic results to support their learning efforts./.
The Thua Thien-Hue Institute for Development Studies, in coordination with the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, on June 7 organised the “Cycling – The story of a green road”, an activity aimed at turning the ancient imperial capital of Hue into a cultural, eco-friendly and smart city, especially developing a green urban model associated with cycling.

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
