Hanoi fully applies automated customs system

The Noi Bai International Airport Border Gate Customs Branch officially applied the Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System/Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) on April 21.

This is the last unit of the Hanoi Customs Department to fully deploy the modern customs system.

Representatives of some businesses present at the branch during thefirst day of application affirmed that the system dealt with theirdeclarations quickly and correctly.

The systemproduces quicker and more accurate responses than the old system anddoes not depend on the intervention of customs officers, said Bui ThaiPhuong, Deputy Director of the Phuc Phuong Co., Ltd.

Director of the Thien Anh Minh Co., Ltd, Van Anh, said that thanks tothe direct support of customs officers, the company’s declaration onVNACCS/VCIS took place smoothly.

According to LuuThi Thanh Hien, Vice Head of the Noi Bai International Airport BorderGate Customs Branch, the new system operated stably during its first dayof operation.

She vowed that the customs staff and IT experts will provide timely assistance for businesses if needed.

VNACCS/VCIS, worth nearly 2.7 billion JPY (21.2 million USD) funded bythe Japanese Government, is scheduled to be fully applied acrossVietnam from June 1.-VNA
