The Hanoi Department of Tourism reported that the number of international arrivals is forecast to hit 425,000 in July, a surge of 20.8% year on year and domestic tourists at 2.10 million, up 5%.
Total revenue from tourism in the month is approximated at 366.2 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 10.3%.
The total number of tourists visiting Hanoi in the January - July period is estimated to hit 16.4 million, a 11.8% increase compared to that in the same period last year. The number of foreign visitors stood at 3.43 million, a year-on-year rise of 42%.
Hanoi has 3,760 accommodation establishments with a total of 71,200 rooms, of which over 600 hotels and apartment complexes have been rated from 1-5 stars. The number of tourists to Hanoi in the first six months of this year is expected to reach 14.05 million, an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
Data from the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism shows that in the first six months of this year, Vietnam welcomed 231,000 tourists from India, an increase of 164% over the same period in 2023, making India among the top 10 largest source markets of Vietnam tourism.
