Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The capital city of Hanoi plans to strengthen promotionprogrammes to stimulate consumption, thereby supporting businesses andenhancing economic growth.
Hanoiis implementing a series of promotional programmes for 2022, focusing on May,July and November at more than 2,000 sales points of businesses.
Notably,the businesses have registered more than 10,000 promotion programmes withthe Department of Industry and Trade in May, worth nearly 20 trillion VND. InJuly and November, Hanoi expects to have about 25,000 promotion programmes.
"Themost important stimulus solution is to ensure the quality of goods and increaseincentives for customers, and at the same time, the enterprises must enhancethe production of high-quality goods," Tran Thi Phuong Lan, acting Directorof the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
Inaddition, many trade promotion activities will be implemented to supportconnections, brand promotion and product consumption for Vietnamese businesses.
Hanoiwill also organise a supporting industry fair to display key industrial products;and an exhibition for the introduction and sale of handicraft productsmanufactured under the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) programme.
Hanoiwill create favourable conditions for businesses and cooperatives of otherprovinces and cities in supplying agricultural products and food, and carryingout trade promotion activities in the city.
Tradepromotion programmes are associated with promoting the branding ofVietnamese goods. They are expected to efficiently connect production andconsumption, and increase revenue for businesses as well as total retail salesof goods and services, helping the city achieve its socio-economic developmentgoals.
Besidesthat, the capital city continues to implement programmes to stabilise themarket of essential products. Accordingly, enterprises are asked to ensure thesupply of goods, and transport of customers and goods.

Totalretail sales of goods and services in April was estimated at 53.6 trillion VND,up 2.8 percent on month and 7.1 percent on year.
Inthe first four months of this year, the total retail sales of goods andservices reached 214.8 trillion VND, an increase of 8.4 percent on year.
Hanoi'sconsumer price index (CPI) in April decreased slightly by 0.05 percent onmonth. But CPI increased by 2.13 percent compared to December 2021 and 3.42 percentover the same period last year.
Thecity's average CPI of the first four months of 2022 increased by 2.85 percenton year./.
