Hanoi (VNA) – The consumer price index (CPI) of Hanoi saw a decrease of0.26 percent in November against the previous month and down 4.17 percentyear-on-year, announced the city’s Department of Statistics.
Transportcosts recorded the highest price decline of 1.67 percent as petrol pricesdecreased twice over the period.
Two key groups thatsaw a reduction in the price index were the housing, electricity, water, fuel,and building materials prices, along with the restaurant and catering services.
The growth rate ofthe price of other goods was not significant enough to offset the declines.
This month, pricesfor gold and the US dollar saw opposite trends, as gold increased by 1.15percent, while the greenback declined 0.05 percent over the previous month.
In November, the cityraked in 1.28 billion USD from exports, up 4.4 percent month-on-month and 28.5percent against the same period last year. The figure for the first 11 monthsof 2018 stood at nearly 13 billion USD, a rise of 20.9 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, importsreached 2.86 billion USD, increasing 7.1 percent month-on-month and 14.1percent over the previous year. In the first 11 months, Hanoi imported goodsworth more than 28 billion USD, up 8 percent.
