Hanoi’s CPI rises 0.24 percent in April

Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in April rose 0.24 percent from the previous month and 4.35 percent against the same time last year, reported the city Statistics Office.

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI)in April rose 0.24 percent from the previous month and 4.35 percent against thesame time last year, reported the city Statistics Office.

Compared to March, the price of food and catering serviceswas down 0.82 percent, while that of beverages and cigarette decreased 0.23percent.

A respective drop of 0.2 percent and 0.29 percent was seenin the prices of culture-entertainment-tourism and post-telecommunicationservices.

Meanwhile, upturn was seen in the prices of garments,headgear, footwear at 0.05 percent; housing, construction materials, power andwater supply at 0.63 percent; equipment and household appliances at 0.23percent; and medicine and health care services at 0.02 percent.

Particularly, a sharp rise of 4 percent was recorded in theprice of transportation due to the two recent adjustments of petrol prices.

At the same time, gold price was down 0.68 percent, whilethe price of USD fell 0.01 percent over the previous month.-VNA
