Hau Giang provides housing support for poor people

The Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang will provide housing loans worth 108 billion VND (4.7 million USD) for nearly 3,600 disadvantaged households in the locality between now and 2020.

Hau Giang (VNA) – The Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang will provide housing loans worth 108 billion VND (4.7 milliღon USD) for nearly 3,600 disadvantaged households in the locality between now and 2020, according to the provincial People’s Committee.

The programme will give priority to poor ethnic minorities and underprivileged households in extremely difficult areas.

Each household will be able to take out loans up to 25 million VND (about 1,130 USD) from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policy (VBSP)‘s provincial branch with an annual interest rate of 3 percent for a 15-year term, including a five-year grace period.

Hau Giang has madeꦿ great efforts to raise local living standards, contributing to reduce the rate of poor households to 6.23 percent as of the end of last year.-VNA
