HCM City active in promoting Vietnam – Russia ties: official

HCM City (VNA) - Through an arsenal of economic – tourism projects and robust delegation exchanges, Ho Chi Minh City has been a leading locality in promoting the Vietnam – Russia relations, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said on June 11.
Attending a ceremony to mark the 34th anniversary of Russia’s National Day (June 12, 1990-2024) held by the Russian General Consulate in the city, Hoan held that the bilateral relations have stood the test of time and have been treasured and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both nations.
In its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralism and diversification, Vietnam always sees Russia as a leading important partner while developing the ties with Vietnam has been a priority of Russia, he said, adding the issuance of the joint statement on the vision of the Vietnam – Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by 2030 has contributed to developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership in a deep and practical fashion for the interests of the two nations and prosperity of the two peoples.
The official thanked Russian Consul General Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich for his efforts and contributions to boosting the ties between the city and Russia, expressing his belief that the Russian diplomat will continue promoting his bridging role to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership, including the friendship and cooperation between HCM City and Russian ministries, sectors and localities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sirozhevich laid stress on the warm and trustworthy relations between the two countries over the course of more than 70 years, adding the ties have been characterised by similarities in history and diverse culture, as well as such common values as patriotism, strong will to fight against invaders, diligence, creativity and profound humanity.
Throughout their joint efforts, Vietnam and Russia will su🌳ccessfully realise their tar🎃gets for the interests of the two peoples and peace and security in the region, he said./.
