HCM City calls for investment in hi-tech agricultural parks

ꦦ – Ho Chi Minh City is expanding its High-Tech Agricultural Park to 570 hectares in 2020 and at the same time offering numerous preferential policies to attract investors in the park’s new facilities.

The information was released at an investment promotion conference in the southern hub on November 11.
According to Dinh Minh Hiep, head of the park’s management board, work is underway to build four new facilities, which, once finished, will add a total 482 hectares to the current high-tech farming area of 88 hectares. Among these projects are a 200-hectare hi-tech farm in Pham Van Coi commune, Cu Chi district, and a 170-hectare animal husbandry farm in Pham Van Hai commune, Binh Chanh district. A 89ha facility dedicated to aquaculture is being built in Long Hoa commune, Can Gio district, while a 23ha expansion is under way in Phuoc Vinh An commune, Cu Chi district.
Investors in the expanded projects will benefit from not only State preferential policy but also specific incentives of the city, including the use of land and water surface free of charge for 11 years starting from the official date that a project become fully operational. Many of their outlay categories are subsidized, including the subsidisation of 70 percent of domestic labour-training and waste treatment costs as well as 50 percent of advertising and trade-fair participation expenses. The Ho Chi Minh High-Tech Agricultural Park began operational in 2010, with 11 demonstration cultivation models meeting international standards established.
