HCM City commits continuous support for Intel Vietnam

HCM City (VNA) – Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’sCommittee Le Thanh Liem has committed all possible support for Intel ProductsVietnam (IPV) to do effective business for mutual growth.

He made thestatement during a reception in Ho Chi Minh City on July 24 for Director ofGlobal Public Affairs and Sustainability at Intel Corporation Todd Brady.

Liemcongratulated IPV on its achievements after 14 years of operating in Vietnam,adding that IPV still plays a key role in manufacturing and exports at theSaigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP).

He hailedIPV for paying attention to not only production and trade but also workforcetraining, contributing to improving the city’s competitiveness.

Additionally,IPV also helps foster bilateral ties between Vietnam and the US, thusfacilitating Vietnam’s global integration, especially in high-tech andknowledge-based economy.

Brady, forhis part, said Intel is expanding investment in many countries to manufacturenew products, and building factories in the US, Ireland and Europe which are specialisedin virtual reality, artificial intelligence and unmanned auto applications.

He expressedwish to receive further support from the city to expand plants and pledged topartner with the city in fields of strength such as hi-tech human resources andsmart urban development, virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

According tohim, nearly 3,000 workers are working for Intel in Vietnam. From 2010 to late2018, IPV earned about 26 billion USD from exports.-VNA
