HCM City (VNA) – The HoChi Minh City Export Furniture Fair (HawaExpo) 2023 is scheduled to take placefrom February 22 to 25, opening a series of trade promotion events in the woodsector this year.

The fair will be organised by theVietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (VIFOREST) and the wood industry organisationsof some localities strong at this sector like HCM City and the provinces ofBinh Duong, Dong Nai, and Binh Dinh, Chairman of the Handicraft and WoodIndustry Association of HCM City (HAWA) Nguyen Quoc Khanh told a press briefingon February 9.

It will be an important event for tradepromotion cooperation across the industry and expected to generate fruitfuloutcomes for trade and investment partnerships, he added.

With about 1,600 booths, HawaExpo2023 is set to gather major producers and exporters of Vietnam. It has alsoreceived nearly 1,000 registrations for visit from partners in traditional exportmarkets including the US and Europe, as well as new ones like the MiddleEast and India.

Khanh noted aside from displaying andintroducing products, the fair will feature business matching events, toursof factories, and specialised workshops to help enterprises and partners stayupdated with market information and production capacity to boost ties.

HawaExpo 2023 will also be ademonstration of the wood sector’s resolve to move to higher levels in valuechains, the HAWA leader added./.
