HCMCity (VNA) – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s CommitteePhan Van Mai extended greetings on the 47th National Day of Laos (December2), while visiting the Lao Consulate General on November 30.

Onbehalf of the municipal Party organisation, administration, and people, Mai offeredthe greetings and expressed his belief that the Consulate General will fulfillits tasks to actively contribute to the Vietnam - Laos relations, including HCMCity’s ties with Lao localities.

Headded HCM City will push ahead with activities to intensify connections withLao localities, thereby helping strengthen the two countries’ specialfriendship.

Appreciatingthe sentiment and attention from HCM City’s Party organisation, administration,and people, Lao Consul General Phimpha Keomixay thanked local authorities forproviding the best possible conditions for the Lao community to live and work inthe city.

Sheaffirmed that her office will coordinate with HCM City to furtherstep up diplomatic activities, cooperation, and exchanges with Vietnam, includingthe southern metropolis, in all fields so as to help nurture the greatfriendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the twocountries./.
