HCM City (VNA)🌞 – Ho Chi Minh City will create optimal conditions for Bulgarian businesses to seek opportunities for long-term investment and business, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said.

The city mayor made the statement during his meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky in the city on October 19.
Highlighting the sound relations between the two countries, Chairman Phong said he hopes the current visit to the city by Minister Loukarsky will contribute to increasing the presence of Bulgarian investors in the city, especially in the fields of Bulgaria’s strength such as pharmacy and green development.  He said HCM City hopes to cooperate with Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, to devise partnership plans especially in trade and investment, in order to realise the memorandum of understanding signed by the two cities.  For his part, Minister Loukarsky lauded the fast development of HCM City, and stated that Bulgaria is willing to share experience on issues of HCM City’s concern, like public transport, food hygiene and environmental pollution.
He affirmed that Sofia’s authorities and relevant agencies will carry out detailed plans of cooperation with HCM City.  Minister Loukarsky also showed his support for the signing and ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EU), as well as the recognition of Vietnam’s market economy.  He said Bulgaria is willing to be a gateway to EU market for Vietnam and expressed his hope that Vietnam will help Bulgaria enter the ASEAN market.-VNA
