Nguyen Van Duc, deputy chairman of the HCM City Real Estate Association, saidit currently takes one or two months to get construction permits and costs morethan 10 million VND (about 450 USD) in fees.
If the trial proves successful, it would help eliminate “many negative aspects”that currently plague the approval process, he said.
The People’s Committee has also unveiled a one-stop-shop mechanism forlicensing construction of large projects like hospitals and schools.
Earlier applicants had to submit documents to multiple agencies, but now theycan submit all of them and get licences from the Department of Construction.
The time taken to issue a construction permit is expected to reduce from 122days now to 42 days.-VNA
