HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh Cityhas agreed to set up a working group to help investors navigate regulations andtweak policies where needed as part of efforts to ensure it can achieve theindustrial growth target of 7.8 – 8.2 percent this year.
The group will deal with investmentprojects coming within the jurisdiction of the city administration, studyinginvestment proposals, ensuring projects can begin, and coming up with solutionsto problems.
It will be led by the chairman of the cityPeople’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Phong, and the members will include thechairpersons of several departments such as planning and investment,construction and finance.
As for projects that come under theauthority of the city People’s Council or the Government -- such as nuclearpower plants -- the group will petition the People’s Committee to seekapproval.
The city plans to introduce more policiesto aid the industrial sector, work with business groups to identify businesses’needs and allow businesses to have a say when investing in infrastructure. -VNA
