Health ministry launches online public services

The Ministry of Health introduced on-line public services level 4 tohelp food production and trading companies in applying forcertifications on meeting food safety regulations and conditions.

Servicelevel 4, the highest of the four administration service levels in thecountry, is expected to create more convenient conditions in theregistration process for enterprises involved in the healthcare sector.

Theon-line registration service level 4 will allow people, businesses andmanagement units to perform administrative formalities, submit requiredforms, handle documents and payments and receive results using only acomputer connected to the Internet.

Speaking at the launchingceremony on December 17, Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said thatthe application of information and technology in health administrativemanagement aimed to improve management efficiency, which will result inbetter handling of community health concerns. In addition, this movewill provide more convenient means to offer public services to thepeople.

"The application of on-line service level 4 is one of thesteps taken by the Ministry of Health towards administrative formalityreform," proclaimed Tien.

"It will create favourable conditionsfor enterprises, especially in terms of reducing expenses and time, andincrease the transparency and publicity in health administrativemanagement," said Tien.

Tien added that the ministry would extendthe level 4 on-line public services to include drug and medicalequipment management in 2015.

The ministry started a pilotregistration for advertising the content of dietary supplements and foodwith micronutrients under ministry management early August this year.

VietnamFood Administration Director Tran Quang Trung said that nearly 600enterprises that had registered for advertising the content of theirdietary supplements and food with micronutrients have been issuedauthorisation by the on-line service system since the beginning ofAugust.

Sao Thai Duong JSC Marketing Director Hoang Van Giap saidthat the on-line service in food safety management would createtransparency and publicity, as well as ease the difficulties encounteredby enterprises in the implementation of administrative procedures.-VNA
